Rhinoplasty?

I’m 16 years old but for several years I’ve been considering having a nose job. There is nothing that stands out about my nose as imperfection and my friends say it’s fine but in my opinion I want a smaller nose. I just want to know if anyone has had this rhinoplasty surgery, how much it cost and what they thought of what it involved and the results. I’ve heard lots of stars have had it and it can be very subtle. My fear is I’ll end up with Michael Jackson’s nose however and Im scared to put my trust in someone to operate but I want to do it…?

totally go for it if your only fear is that you’ll turn out like michael jackson, lol. that doesn’t happen! he had WAY too many is the problem. yours definitely will NOT turn out that way. as for the trust thing, just research doctors and go to a few before you make your final decision. talk to them extensively and ask a lot of questions, so you’re both on the same page of what you want out of the surgery. you’ll know which doctor just feels right for you. :)

you probably will want to wait until you’re 18 though. your nose is still changing and growing (not necessarily bigger so don’t let that freak you out), so it isn’t really a good idea to do it under 18. a lot of doctors won’t even do it.

good luck if you decide to do it!

Young lady, I do not know you but my advice to you is wait until you are at lest 20 before doing it. That way you body has a time to fully grow and you might see that you do not need it.

Since you have fear about it this would also help you understand it better.

I had Rhinoplasty done 20 years ago to correct a birth defect. The process is fairly simple and the residual pain after surgery isn’t too significant but it is a little uncomfortable. Put your fears aside when it comes to looking like Michael Jackson, like the previous poster said he just had it done too many times.

When I had it done the Doctors made me wait until I was 18 to make sure I had full facial growth as you don’t want your face to still grow after you’ve had the procedure done. You will want to find a Plastic Surgeon that has alot of experience with Rhinoplasty for best results. Many Plastic Surgeons do many different types of plastic surgery so to find one that works on noses more isn’t a bad thing.

As far as cost goes, you’ll find great variations in costs. An average range can run from $4,000 to $12,000 for the procedure.

I was pleased with how my procedure worked out and am glad I did it.

Rhinoplasty surgery has the highest rate of revisions. Also you’re still very young and your nose is still developong (nose grows all you life!) I have had a rhinoplasty, you can read my journal (link below)
