Making the Decision to Have Cosmetic Surgery
Sunday, January 10th, 2010
Cosmetic surgery is sometimes used interchangeably with the term plastic surgery. This is not an entirely proper use, but because plastic surgery can be purely functional. Cosmetic surgery can improve the aesthetic appearance but also as a function, or even appearance. Typically, in our society, cosmetic surgery is seen as optional and voluntary. That means customers do not always see it anyway.
Take for example a young adult woman, with breasts of various shapes or breasts that are “distorted”. This is, technically, probably just a matter of aesthetics. But what the emotional impact such a condition can have on the young woman? Odds are, already dealt with their fair share of embarrassment or shame in the dressing room, on sleepovers, field, while shopping for good-fitting bra, etc. Although the problem is not his fault, the young woman’s door, probably no shame with her. The effects of the emotional burden can damage self-esteem of a young woman and her romantic relationships.
Other issues, as mentioned earlier, only for reasons of physical improvement. Rhinoplasty (nose job) is a popular cosmetic procedure, and relatively easy to perform and recover. Dermal fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm are also very popular. These fillers are usually injected into areas of the face where lines and wrinkles are likely to appear. Another popular cosmetic treatment that has received attention in recent years, Botox. Botox is injected into the skin and paralyzes the nerves in the area, leading to a very smooth.
Cosmetic procedures such as breast enlargement can lead to both physical and emotional benefits for the customer. Even if you do not suffer from embarrassment and shame, as the example of the young woman with breast problems, some people feel aware of anything. If there is a minor cosmetic procedure is all it takes for one to feel safer and to spend less time obsessed with a particular feature of their face or body, then perhaps it is a good choice.
It would not be entirely correct to speak about the benefits of cosmetic surgery. Some attention should be paid to the potential risks of cosmetic surgery. The most obvious is that they will work to resolve the problem. If the problem is physical, mental or emotional, it must be possible again that the customer is not satisfied after surgery. It is possible that upon completion, the client realizes there was a deeper problem. For example, self-esteem problems, can not disappear overnight, although the lack of physical perception is gone.
Another potential risk of cosmetic surgery is one that gives new problems. With any type of surgery, there is always a risk of death or other adverse effects of infection, improper healing, etc., or if a finance minister procedure (s) may find it harder to keep up with payments than had been realized by adding a new layer of stress in their lives.
Risks and benefits of cosmetic surgery should be carefully studied and evaluated by the customer. Part of the process can also be a recommendation to the plastic surgeon for the customer to obtain a psychological evaluation or counseling to determine whether customer expectations are realistic. Do not be offended if such a proposal comes up, because it is a measure to protect both the client and the plastic surgeon. Any type of surgery that requires thought, planning and evaluation, so that both parties be satisfied with the outcome.
